Better synonyms are another nice feature of the google keyword tool in comparison with overture keyword tool. With these synonyms I maybe get a better long tail keyword from my keyword, with less competition. Which means easier high ranking on a long tail keyword.

I don’t want to kill the whole overture keyword tool, but it is being killed by his own success. And my experience is that it is a better idea to use google tools to rank on google, than using third party tools like overture keyword tool. Google know what it wants to see on your website, and knows what people are searching for, and what is relevant. The overture keyword tool doesn’t know all this information.

Let me introduce myself

Let me first introduce myself, my name is Chris Dutch. Funny enough, I am really a Dutch guy. I was born in Amsterdam. For over more than 8 years, my hobby is building websites. And make some profit with these websites is another great thing. 4 Years ago I decided to quit my fulltime job and I start working from home.

Now these days I have a fulltime job unveiling the secrets of the google algoritm. A couple of years ago I made a nice monthly income from building websites. Now these days the googlebot is becoming much smarter, so I am learning every day new things about optimizing my websites. I read a lot of information on the internet every and each day. Also I’m buying a lot of eBooks about things I need to know more about.

I’m a real computer freak, which started with the commodore 64. But this was all about games. I learned myself some basic programming, to write some crappy c64 games, when I was 10 years old. My father always loved to see me enjoying computers so much. After that my dad bought a 286 computer with a xga screen. On this computer I also did a lot of games stuff, in this time games where great, very simple but very fun to play. I made a quick start with learning gwbasic on this computer, because the secrets of programming and creating programs where very interesting. At this moment everything was going very fast. Almost each 4 to 6 months I had another but faster computer. With the vga screen the games where beautiful to play. Very fast the sound was becoming better and better. The first game I am remembering with speech was X-wing. I was very surprised about a computer was talking to me. But in this time it was all about games.

With my first 2400 baud modem I entered the internet! It was very slow and expansive because of the telephone costs. So every Saturday when my parents went shopping, I connected my pc to the telephone, and I was dialling into the internet. Wow this was great. In that time I was downloading my first mp3, which almost take a whole day hihihi. A year later I had my first broadband connection. I was one off the first in my city with a broadband internet connection. With another guy of my work we agreed to play a game together trough our broadband connection. Few months later I began to play less more games, because I knew every game where just some stupid lines of codes, I was becoming very boring with gaming. I started to learn myself to build websites, and how to use the ftp connection to upload my webpages.

In this period the googlebot did not even existed. It was very difficult to find thing you where searching for, after a while I discovered the altavista website. I did not even realize this was a great opportunity to promote my website. But after a year of making websites for visitors who never came to my website, a friend of mine showed me the google website. In that time I was very surprised about what I could find on the internet trough the google website. Search was becoming much easier to me. With the new source of information I was reading and chatting a lot about how I could get my websites found on those search engines. When google.com became the biggest search engine I knew there was some serious money to make with it. I made some websites, but now I know they where all black hat websites.

I filled the pages only with loads of keywords, so that everyone was finding my websites in the search engines. But this was a lot of work for me in that time because I had no knowledge about scripting, only about creating a html page. Not much later google launched adwords. For me this was an easy was to be found, only it cost me some money. But I knew I could only make money with investing money. After a few days I was making a profit of 100%. In this time it was easy to sell my stuff on the internet. With almost no effort I made some serious money. In this time I quit my daily job. I want to become an internet guy, who lives from the internet. Not a short time after that, google was changing the adwords options and rules. The costs per click where rising each day higher and higher.

After a few weeks my profit was gone, the ads on adwords, where more expansive than my profit was. So my return of invest was also starting to degrease. I was very frightened because my money was vanishing into adwords. That time I was reading a lot about php scripting because I want to go back to spam the google serp pages. A month later my income was coming back to its origin. All my black hat websites where found by visitors and they where buying stuff. I felt great in that time, the money was flowing in and it only costs me some money to hire some servers. But you know what goes up must go down. Fortunately it always happens to me, google was starting to ban my keyword spammed black hat sites. But in this period I bought a house and my daughter was born. So I definitely needed money. I could go back to my daily job but I always hated to earn every month the same salary, I want to be paid by my work, not by time that is work. Again I spammed the hell out of it in the search engines. This time I automated a lot, so that I was fasters in creating websites than google ever could ban them. Most of the spam sites where listed for about 2 months. Some of them keep listed for over more than six months. Anyway everything was going fine. On a certain moment I thought, now is the time to build some serious websites, and try to get ranked high in the search engines. It took me over more than 4 months to get some high rankings. But the most time I had, was spent on learning seo and reading information.

My main problem always was to discover niches and keywords who did the job. A lot of times I thought I ranked on top keywords, but when I was in the number 1 or 2 position the visitors where low. Again learning, reading and practicing. And while time goes by, I started to attract some visitors who where growing every and each day.

I also learned that it is not quantity but quality. I can have loads of visitors but if they are not targeted they won’t buy anything I have to offer. Again I learned this lesson. Most of the times I have websites running which attract only about 100 visitors a day. Almost all webmasters people would say I won’t make any profit. But I am selling stuff which make me $100 profit. So if only one visitor buys something a day, I have build a very profitable website. And that’s my whole new way of thinking.

I learned so much about marketing and selling this last year, I am really stunned about the future. I also never thought about sharing information, because I want to do it myself. But now I reached a stadium, that I want to discuss, about the things I learned and which I use on a daily basis. With this blog I hope to meet people just like me, and their vision on things I did or still do.

I will try to post every day about something I am busy with, or idea’s I have in my mind about new project or strategies. Also I will reveal the things, information and tricks I discovered to generate a monthly income trough the internet. I hope all you people will follow my personal blog.

At last I will make some excuses about the bad English writing I do Because I am a Dutch guy who is trying to write an English blog, it is sometimes very difficult to write down in English my memories and thoughts. Because I don’t know all the words from Dutch to English I make a lot of use from the google translation service. All right hope to see you tomorrow!
